የለንደኑ ከንቲባ ሄንሪ ባርቶን በ 1417 የለንደኑን ጨለማ ሌሊት ለማብራት ከቤት ውጭ የመብራት መብራቶችን ለመስቀል ትእዛዝ ሰጡ ፡፡ በኋላም የእሱ ተነሳሽነት በፈረንሳዮች ተደገፈ ፡፡
የ 16 ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን ፓሪስ - የመንገድ ላይ መብራት ሕግ
በ 16 ኛው ክፍለ ዘመን መጀመሪያ ላይ በፓሪስ ውስጥ ከሚገኙት የመኖሪያ ሕንፃዎች መስኮቶች ውጭ የመብራት መብራቶች መጫን ነበረባቸው ፡፡ በሉዊስ 16 ኛ በፓሪስ ጎዳናዎች ላይ ብዙ የጎዳና መብራቶች ታዩ ፡፡ እ.ኤ.አ. በ 1667 “የፀሐይ ንጉስ” በመባል የሚታወቀው ሉዊ አሥራ አራተኛ የከተማ የመንገድ መብራት ሕግን በይፋ አውጀ ፡፡ ሉዊ አሥራ አራተኛ በዚህ ደንብ በመታወጁ በፈረንሣይ ታሪክ ውስጥ “ብሩህ ዘመን” ተባለ ፡፡
1807 የእንግሊዝ የእንፋሎት መብራት

However the real revolution of the street lamp was the appearance of the gas lamp. But initially, its inventor, the Englishman William Murdoch, was ridiculed. Although the Murdoch’s street lights have caused a lot of controversy, the advantages of this street lamp can not be ignored. In 1807, the new streetlight was installed on Pomeranian Street and quickly became popular in European capitals.
1843 Shanghai kerosene lamp
In 1843, the first street lamp appeared on the streets of Shanghai, China. Although it was ignited by kerosene, it was more sacred than the moonlight in people’s minds. Later, the streetlights in Shanghai’s concession were changed to gas lamps. It was transplanted from London. The brightness was several times higher than that of kerosene lamps. In the eyes of pedestrians at night, it was simply the “sun” at night.
Until 1879, Shanghai Ponte Dock finally illuminated China’s first electric light, equipped with a 10-horsepower internal combustion engine generating unit, equivalent to the power of a walking tractor. The initial road light is equipped with a switch on each pole. It still needs to be manually turned on and off every day. After 3 years, it is replaced by a plurality of street lamps. This type of street lamp is used in the 20th century in various cities across the country.

1959 Premier Zhou personally approved Tiananmen Street Lights
On the eve of the 10th anniversary of the founding of China, Beijing carried out the construction of the top ten buildings and Tiananmen Square. The street lights of Chang’an Street were also designed and manufactured at this time. At that time, there were a lot of street lighting design schemes on Chang’an Street. The lotus lamp and the cotton lamp shape used now are still personally approved by Premier Zhou.
In the 1960, the front area were installed 23 fluorescent street lights. This is the first time that Beijing has tried a new light source, which has greatly improved the illumination of street lamps.
Light source technology upgrade after the 1990s
